The other parts of the book were tremendous because they applied to a new church just getting started. The principles Searcy runs through for starting a new church plant apply in every church setting if a new pastor comes in to a replant or even an already established church and seeks to infuse his vision with the people and the community. The last parts of this book will definitely be pages I will be gleaning from for the considerable future as Searcy delves into servant evangelism, community outreach, series building, team building, purpose establishment, and many other nuts and bolt things that no one but leadership thinks about in a church.
If someone is thinking about planting a church, I'd say you have to read this book. It will challenge you and give you tons to think about and plenty of ideas on how to be effective. If someone is replanting a church or looking at being in a new church and is looking for ways to grow or infuse a vision, this book is also very influential and can help. Really good book.
