The Republican Party is no more. Without question, it has proven to be more resembling to the Blue Dog Democrats of JFK's day than the Constitutional Conservatives of whom it has pandered to for decades.
The Democrats have went as far left as they can get all the while proudly promoting abortion on demand, Planned Parenthood funding, gay marriage, and now the right for transgender people to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with. The Democrats' pseudo-wars are leaving bodies behind, but no one counts the cost for fear of being a bigot, phobe, or terrorist. The Democrats are even running a self-proclaimed Socialist on their primary ticket with no qualms about it.
Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have demonstrated the political ineptitude of many in our country. Conservative leaders like Liberty University President, Jerry Falwell, Jr. and former Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin, have trumpeted The Donald's cause from the get go. The conservative Christian leaders have sold their faith at the altar of national anger. Evangelicals by the droves forsook candidates with a proven track record of Christian values to vote for Trump as he bewitched the masses into thinking he was a true conservative. The man is a mastermind, and with Fox News in his back pocket, Trump has controlled the media and other outlets during his run.
Long before the New York primary on Tuesday, it was abundantly clear that Trump would easily have the most delegates of the Republicans running. Whether he hits the magic 1,237 remains to be seen. What is certain however is that if he does not receive the nomination at the GOP Convention in Cleveland, Hillary Clinton will win the presidency. Trump's supporters will split from the party, if they ever were truly a part of it, and take Republican votes with them. The even sadder thing is that should Trump get the nomination, Hillary Clinton will still win the presidency. She beats him soundly in every poll, and while a lot can happen between the summer and November, Trump is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.
Sadly, Americans are having no issue at all voting for Hillary Clinton. Voters are turning out in droves for her all the while saying they know she can't be trusted; all the while acknowledging that she has lied repeatedly; all the while acknowledging that she is being investigated by the FBI and a special committee on her involvement in the deaths of American soldiers and an ambassador. All of that apparently doesn't matter. It's sad.
It's sad that America is caught up so much in political correctness that the entire nation is being forced to kneel down and give up religious and Christian liberties for the sake of 0.3% of the population. Transgender people amount for about 700,000 American citizens. To put that in context, there are approximately 319 million people in the US. We're being forced to allow men and women who decide to identify as the opposite sex of their birth to use the bathroom of whichever sex they identify with. Now there are many of that 319 million that supports this right, but without question, the large majority of our country rejects this nonsense. Yet, state and city governments along with businesses and artists, are boycotting states who are passing laws mandating that people use the correct bathroom. Companies like Paypal are moving their operations out of North Carolina because a man can't pee with a little girl citing human rights violations. However, that same company doesn't hesitate to do business and build offices in China and other parts of the world which have committed human rights violations for years much worse than telling a man he should stand at a urinal.
It's a sad state of affairs where we legitimize what is so obviously perverted and ridiculous. We have legitimized a person's feelings and decisions to be unable to be offended and questioned. If a man decides to be a woman, the world is supposed to accept it, applaud it, encourage it, and celebrate it. We're supposed to go out of our way to make that person feel accepted and be sure not to offend. We're supposed to change our laws and forget common sense to assure this individual has the right to do what he wants. Nevermind the other citizens. Nevermind logic. It's beyond absurd. We no longer have a moral compass or conscience. We're making up the rules as we go, and we're opening Pandora's Box to a hellish world of destruction.
But this is where we are as a nation. There are no political candidates to help in stopping this. The two front runners are as liberal loony as can be. The political system has failed the American people. The American government is no longer representative. The federal government cares nothing for the working class and the common man's rights. The Constitution is just an old piece of paper barely legible. Our history has been tweaked and changed. A new generation has risen and knows nothing, nor cares anything, about where we came from or where we're going as a nation and a people. Everyone lives to be a star of their very own dramatic sitcom played out over social media. Everyone is doing what they believe to be right in their own eyes. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life have overtaken us and the consequences are upon us.
The Bible is being fulfilled in front of us. The safety nets that have protected Christianity are systematically being ripped down, and faith is no longer a right to be protected, much less celebrated. Secularism is the new religion of the day. But like any Broadway show, the lights eventually go off. The costumes are taken off. The makeup is scrubbed off. The doors are locked. And when all that is done, I have to believe that behind the facades and vitriol, people feel an emptiness, and that emptiness is the precipice behind their actions and searching. God has placed eternity in all of our hearts. Our mission, that is, the church's mission, is the same since Jesus' time, but now it must be amplified and taken to another level. We can't debate people into heaven, for you cannot reason with those who have forsaken reason altogether. Our faith must rise and be strong and our love must be sincere. The church must appeal to the hearts of man and protect the hearts of others. Church as usual is ending.
