The book in itself does not teach someone how to pick up a stripper in the sense that one might think. Instead, the book talks about the way that Todd's wife, Erin, began a ministry to some of the girls in a local strip club. One young lady ended up getting saved and quitting the business and is now helping others get out of it as well. This one story is the foundation behind the other stories of how God has used the Stevens family and their church to reach out to the unreachable and minister to the down and out.
The book if full of scripture-in-action kinds of ministry and just by reading the book, I began to get excited about the possibilities of true ministry that goes beyond a church's four walls and traditional mindset. I'm working now on formulating and crafting some ideas for the new year at the church and I think it's going to be something amazing.
I would highly recommend this book. It'll stretch you. It'll cause you to rethink a lot of things. It'll most certainly challenge you. But it's worth it. Get the book. You won't regret it. It'll be a reread for me without a doubt!
