Regis details growing up in the Bronx and moving out to Hollywood to try and make it in the TV business. He talks about his alma mater, Notre Dame, plenty. He also talks about his time in the Navy which is a little known fact about him.
The book is written into 30 chapters and each chapter is named after a person that was instrumental in Regis' life. At the end of each chapter, Regis talks about what he took away from his time past or present with the individual and gives his own words of wisdom to the reader on how to handle situations similar in style. The people talked about include: Jack Paar, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Bill Cosby, David Letterman, Donald Trump, George Steinbrenner, Ronald Reagan, Lou Holtz, Kathie Lee Gifford, Kelly Rippa, and his wife, Joy.
It was a great read and a good break from my norm cycle. I'm not sure if I'll get all 52 books read this year. Time is running out and I'm 3 behind with about 3 weeks to go. We'll see what happens.
