One of the best Christian authors out there is Max Lucado. His newest book, "Grace," isn't a disappointment. In fact, it's a gutsy endeavor. Probably nothing in scripture is more misinterpreted and debated than the subject of grace. We sing about it, talk about it, name our kids after it, but know very little about it. What is grace? In the book, Lucado seeks to answer that question and to push the reader into an understanding of grace and the freedom it gives. Lucado works through several portions of scripture to show how God looks at His children and the grace He offers us in our times of failure and weakness. When we change our view of God to that of Father than that of an anti-social, hateful God who actually takes pleasure in our failures, sins, and punishments. When we begin to grasp the notion that salvation is a relationship, not a race and not a perfection stunt, we begin to find peace in a God who never lets us go. Great book on grace and a must read for the weary soul.
