We left a few days early to enjoy some sites and sounds of our own on our journey north. Plus we didn't want to wear Rylee out too bad. We stopped in Richmond, VA for a couple of days and visited a zoo where a giraffe literally took Rylee's hair bow off of her head. We got to drive down Monument Avenue and see giant monuments to Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and others. We visited Hollywood Cemetery and visited the graves of Jefferson Davis and his wife and kids, Gen. J.E.B. Stuart, and Presidents James Monroe and John Tyler. That was pretty neat. We visited the Confederate White House in downtown Richmond and saw the Virginia Capitol Building designed by Thomas Jefferson. Once arriving in Dumfries where the Coleman's life, we visited George Washington's Mount Vernon which was amazing to say the least! We got to see where he and his wife were buried on the grounds. Oh and we saw Washington's famous wooden teeth! We took a train ride to DC as well and took Rylee's pictures with the monuments. DC is always a great place to visit.
The Kids Krusade at Centerpoint Church of God started on Friday night and the very first night children were in the altar praying. On Saturday morning we continued the Kids Krusade and followed it up with games, hot dogs, and an inflatable slide and bounce house. Sunday morning we took about 20 mins and finished up the Kids Krusade and then I was given the opportunity to preach. God moved in the house and several came up for prayer and were touched with one young lady saying she needed to get back to God. Salvation is worth every mile driven!
On the way home we stopped in Charlotte, NC and visited the Billy Graham Library. I was impressed and impacted. I'm still mulling over everything I saw, felt, and thought from that visit. I'll write about it soon I'm sure.
The great thing about the trip was that we have a great church that recognizes and supports our ministry. We appreciate the prayers and support of our Free Point family in commissioning us and encouraging us to minister and attempt to help and support other churches and ministries. We are blessed to be in Perry and overwhelmed at God's blessings upon Free Point Church. So thank you Free Point family for supporting us while we were "loaned" out on a divine assignment. Because of your love and support, where we go, you go as well.
